MDAC and DCOM components
for SQCpack and CHARTrunner

Both CHARTrunner and SQCpack use Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) to gain access to data for charting. The installation for both programs includes MDAC 2.5, which will be installed on your computer automatically if needed. If a later version of MDAC is already on your computer then MDAC 2.5 will not be installed.
In some circumstances, you may need a more recent version of MDAC. For example, if you are using parameter queries with SQL Server and CHARTrunner. For more information about this see http://www.pqsystems.com/kb/activekb/questions/165/ in the Knowledge Base.
DCOM
MDAC relies upon DCOM components being installed on your computer. Windows 95 computers do not have DCOM preinstalled on them. If you are installing SQCpack or CHARTrunner on a Windows 95 computer, you may get a message telling you that either DCOM98 or DCOM95 is required. Please download the appropriate one from the links below, install it, and then retry installing SQCpack or CHARTrunner.

Compatibility
This chart indicates the versions compatible with each other. If you have the SQCpack software version on the left, you need to syncronize with the CHARTrunner version number listed to the right of it.

SQCpack with CHARTrunner
SQCpack and CHARTrunner share some components. If you use both programs, you will need to synchronize them.
Check your version number
To check your version number, open the Help Menu and select About.
Software upgrades
If your number isn't listed, you do not have the latest maintenance release. Maintenance releases are free upgrades within a version number, for example 4.5.76 to 4.5.88.

New releases
If you are running SQCpack 4.0 or 4.5 or CHARTrunner 1.1, 1.5, or 1.6, and do not have a current maintenance agreement, you can purchase the latest version of either product through our store.
